My 5D Mark II Dilema
Specs!
The new bad ass on the block is officially available for sale today, that is if you can find one. When I first heard about the Canon 5D Mark II I was ready to throw my card down and get myself in debt for another couple years in that never ending quest for crispier shots. I mean, the features are amazing and with the price of 2,699.99 it sounds like a dream, right. Why? Well, forgive me while I nerd on out on these here specs:

The 21 megapixel CMOS sensor
Currently the other Canon that shoots 21 megapixels is the ultra beefy super pro 1DS Mark III (And yes, these different models names will hurt your brain), but the cost of the 1DS raids your bank account for about $6,500. So yeah, the 5D price of $2,699 delivering 21 megs is pretty much amazing.
ISO 50 - 25600 expansion
Finally! We now have a Canon sensor that expands up to 25600! It’s not so much the insanely high iso that’s cool, but the fact that the noise at high levels has been drastically reduced. These low light and low noise abilities is what has made the Nikon D3 a must have camera for a lot of pros, so it’s good to see Canon stepping it up. Imagine shooting natural light lifestyle at night and not worrying about that noise, cool right? The shot below is from Vincent Laforte who actually got to test this camera and these expanded ISO settings out for Canon, be sure to check his site and blog for some great stuff.
The fact it shoots HD video
This is the fuckin’ game changer dudes. The lines between photographer and cinematographer are offiially going to blur more and more as video goes onto DSLRs. The best part is you can use the same lenses for the video and photos! Talk about saving some change, but then again with the ability to shoot video you’ll probably spend more cash on steady cam and tracks—it’s always something. But as you can see with this video shot below, the visuals are eye popping gorgeous.
Ain’t Flash Sync A Bitch
So there I was, ready to pre order this thing. I got so excited I emailed the one and only Grant Brittain about it, because he knows everything. Grant instantly emailed back these three little words that crushed my super camera dreams—200 flash sync. Ouch. For any other photographer this wouldn’t be much of an issue, but for skateboarding it’s a problem. Why? Flash sync and motion blur is a whole other lengthy and painful post that I’ll do later, but to make it short—skateboarding is fast as fuck! 200 won’t cut it and the photo editor will tell you to re-shoot it.
Dilemas
Anyway, this camera seems amazing. That damn flash sync and the sneaking suspicion that the 1DS mark IV is coming out soon to crush everyone is the only thing stopping me from getting this bad boy… actually I’m gonna go ahead and get it for the video and only shoot action in the evening so there’s no motion blur… No, I’ll wait. No, I’m gettin’ it … ahhhhhhhhhh!
The Boosh Is Loose

Danozone, Purpz, and I skated to the subway and went to see Tyler do some stand up and El Cid, there was a rumor he was going to dress up like someone special.

We get there, we see Jesus on stage… bombing. Then it was Boosh’s birthday drink time at Cranes.
Lots of cake in friends faces. Happy 30th birthday Boosh.

Jesus was raging so hard he got Boosh kicked out of his own birthday party, real cool Jesus.
Wake up Purpz!
